Mitch Butler

Mitch Butler is Tax Manager at Grey Rock Investment Partners, where he leads the firm's tax function across its funds, investment vehicles, portfolio investments, and affiliated entities. Mr. Butler is responsible for federal and state tax compliance, schedule K-1 reporting and delivery, tax planning and structuring, transaction-related tax matters, and oversight of external tax advisors.

Prior to joining Grey Rock, Mr. Butler was Tax Manager at Articulate, an e-learning SaaS company. In that role, he established the company's income tax function and led federal and state tax compliance, tax planning, and external advisor oversight for complex partnership and S corporation structures. Prior to Articulate, Mr. Butler spent more than four years in the tax practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), where he specialized in partnership taxation for private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, real estate investment firms, REITs, and other institutional investment partnerships.

Mr. Butler holds a Master of Taxation (MTax) from Weber State University and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Utah. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
